Yabbaloumba Retreat

Yabbaloumba Retreat – for when the camping get’s too much …

Yabbaloumba Retreat is approximately 9km south-west of Kenilworth, just off the Booloumba Creek Road and nestled between two spring fed creeks. It bears the name of these 2 creeks, Little Yabba and Booloumba.

We were fortunate to stay in one of the Luxury Cabins. As we entered the cabin we were immediately greeted with calming music, a wine and cheese platter and a fruit bowl.  Yabbaloumba’s authentic country cabins are fully equipped with a generous sized bed, warm toasty fireplace, luxurious double spa bath and fully equipped kitchen. The deck overlooks the green pastures and shed below.

After lighting the candles, we made dinner and unwound to find peace among the chirping birds and grazing cattle. This 200 acre working farm is lush with olive grove orchards and avocados. The olives and fruit trees produce delicious preserves and chutney.

The next morning we woke to a frosty day but the fire kept us toasty and warm. We opened the fridge to find rashers of bacon, fresh eggs, mushrooms and farm fresh tomatoes. We indulged in this and followed it up with fresh apple juice, porridge and yoghurt.

Hosts, Lloyd and Barb Campbell go the extra mile and hand deliver hot croissants in the morning to your door – who could want for more! If you are seeking to truly ‘getaway’ from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, then there is no better place than Yabbaloumba Retreat. Book your next getaway below …
